Yamazaki Naoki (山﨑直樹) is a Japanese executive producer, the current representative chairman of UP-FRONT GROUP, and the president of UP-FRONT HAWAII. Until 2002 he was the third president and representative director of UP-FRONT GROUP.

Biography[]

Yamazaki Naoki was born on June 25, 1949 in Chiba, Japan.[1]

In March 1972, he dropped out of Meiji University's law school. A month later, he started working at Elec Records. In April 1974, he founded the Algiers Music Publishing and became representative director. Three years later, he joined Nippon Phonogram.[1]

In September 1981, Yamazaki joined Polystar, a company under Young Japan Group, as the director and production manager. He was also the concurrent representative director of Kaleido (now Polystar Publishing).[1]

In April 1986, Yamazaki was appointed as an executive director of UP-FRONT AGENCY. A year later, he was appointed the representative director of the company, then renamed UP-FRONT GROUP.[1]

In June 2002, he became the representative chairman of UP-FRONT GROUP, with Seto Yukio taking his former position as president.[1]

In a 2013 interview with J VIG, Seto said that Yamazaki predicted 12 or 13 years before that the demand for physical CDs would decrease in the future. This led Seto to work on changing the company's infrastructure. Seto called Yamazaki prophetic because his prediction came true, and said he has great intuition and can quickly pick up when times are starting to change because he has worked in the industry for several years.[2]

On December 23, 2015, Yamazaki appeared in public for the last day of the Japan Wrestling Federation National Championship at Yoyogi National Gymnasium. He was seated as a guest between coach Sakae Kazuhito and ℃-ute,[3] who performed at the event alongside Kobushi Factory.[4]
